Something that you will soon learn about me is that I love quotes, and some of them are so relevant to our lives. It is strange, but somehow I stumble upon certain quotes at just the time I need to see them, and this was one of them. It read, “Great people do things before they’re ready.” This meant so much to me because sometimes (most of the time!) I second guess myself. This goes for all aspects of my life, but especially the business side. How many times have you thought that you will wait until the right time, or once you have enough money, enough of a following, etc? That is my mindset every single day on so many decisions! In fact, I’ve had this post sitting in “drafts” for days wondering if I should add to it, and being worried about if anyone would even enjoy reading it! The key thing to notice here is that if you take a moment to think about successful people, they all had to take a risk on some level. Are we ever fully ready to face fear and uncertainty? No, but there is no other way but going straight through it regardless. If you wait for the right time, you may be waiting all your life, because circumstances will never be “perfect,” so start now with what you have. This is a great goal to have, and I definitely am still working on it, because I still have huge fears and insecurities. But trust me, if I of all people can take a step in the right direction, so can you! 🙂
Earlier this year, I had the honor of being a bride for a day when Michelle of M Harris Studios asked me to be her model! I cannot even express how much I love weddings and everything that is involved, so of course I was thrilled and said YES! Once I went to Ava Laurenne Bride and tried on that dress, I never wanted to take it off (I’m ridiculous). It was then my responsibility to find a husband for the day- no problem, right? After asking around, it was getting increasingly difficult to find someone who could do it or would be good for the part, and for some reason, Jeremy Grey popped into my mind. You may know him as the morning co-host of Thunder 104.5. I had only met him one time, briefly and figured he would have no interest in doing this, but I went ahead and asked him because why not?! (Hahaha.) Somehow, I got him to join in. When the day came, we shot at Fredericksburg Square in Dowtown Fredericksburg, and it was beautiful! I’m always going to cherish these pictures, and thank you to everyone who made it happen!
